This article was created by ABC News and featured on Yahoo!
News, a family friendly news show as far as I know. This article was produced 5
hours ago today (10/28/13), and tells the event of Crystal McVea talking to God
when her heart stopped for almost 10 minutes because of an overdose of pain
medicine back in 2009. Now she has been recognized for her book Waking Up In Heaven, her story of going
from superstitious to a full believer in God.
Now in this world are religious people, passive religious
people, and non-religious people. There are believers and superstitious people.
Anyone who comes across something with the mention of religion will have their
own take on it. But everyone can relate to a time where they felt hopeful,
encouraged, or enlightened. And I saw that in this article.
The article was written for the general public to see, but I
suspect that most people with a religious affiliation will be able to relate to
this woman’s story a little more than others. But this article was meant to
bring hope for the people and tell of the wonderful, miraculous things that can
happen to a person.
I found this important because it goes to show how one’s
life can change dramatically in a single event. Though the belief in a God is
falling in our modern world, the overall populations of the world mostly follow
a monotheistic religion, with Christianity and Islam at the higher percentiles.
And maybe all it takes is one person to make a difference in someone else.

I think it's interesting that this story is just being brought up now when the event took place in 2009. I actually saw this article on Yahoo and read part of it, but I couldn't really relate to it so I didn't read the whole thing. I respect people from all religious backgrounds and tolerations and I hope that this woman is successful with her book.
ReplyDeletein my opnion, there are these God moments that people have in near death experiences. It's hard though for a nonbeliever of Christ to fully understand unless something like this happens to them. But my opinion of religion and my belief in the lord is justified with stories like these. people should be inspired to learn more about religion when reading this, so they can make an opinion of their beliefs not based on popular vote or what their parents think.
ReplyDeleteNear death experiences seem to be semi-common, or perhaps it's just that I've heard about them frequently. Some skeptics speculate that these events are caused by an chemicals released from "dying" and a resulting overactive brain, as if it had a burst of energy before shutting down completely. Personally, it's hard for me to say whether or not these experiences are legitimate.
