Summary:
Seven year old Lorenzo Cantu survived after being run over by a truck this last Saturday in Dallas. His grandfather's surveillance system captured a recording of the boy running out from behind a parked car on the side of the street, then suddenly getting hit by a white pick up truck pulling a flatbed trailer. The driver never stopped and left Lorenzo lying helplessly in the street. Luckily, after being in the hospital for 24 hours, the boy only had to recover from a concussion and badly scratched and bruised feet. His mother, Victoria Cantu, is very thankful that her son is alive, but is worried if the person who ran him over will soon be found and punished.
Analysis:
Especially after watching the video myself, I find it amazing that after getting hit by a car this seven year old survived, and he only had a concussion and bruised feet! I can't imagine being the person behind that truck's wheel and knowing that you have just possibly killed a child, yet they didn't even stop. The driver could possibly been someone not legal to the U.S., not wanting to get involved with the police/law for other reasons other than just this one.
