So basically what happened was a teaching assistant at the University of Iowa, meant to attach a file that had the answers to two math problems, unfortunately it had the skimpy nudes of she and another man. By accidentally sending those elicit emails, the entire campus saw the pictures, and the woman was let go of her position.
Response: This seems like something that couldn't happen in real life. It seems like the plot so some cheesy Hollywood movie, but in all reality I do empathize for this woman. She didn't mean to send anything harmful, unfortunately she lacked the common sense to check twice.
We live in a very busy world that's run by technology. So even though it's not uncommon for these things to happen, it's all a matter of who's on the receiving end. Our society is very "go go go" and very seldom do people ever take a moment to take a second at whatever's happening. However, this second look caused a woman to lose almost any chance of teaching she's ever had.
I agree with letting the teacher go. Though those pictures were supposed to be private, someone who is supposed to be professional shouldn't have those in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThat is probably going to be a regretful decision for the rest of her life. This shows technology users that we need to slow down and double check our information before hitting send or post.
