When the story of two different sexual assault cases against Cardinal George Pell surfaced last year, the world was shocked. Even though Bell was found guilty for five charges from the assault back in December, the verdict was not open to the public's eye until now. The main reason to hold the news from the press was due to a second trial that would have been held this year but, the charges were dropped. Because Bell was found guilty he has become the most senior official of the catholic church to be charged with sexual abuse.

Though it is such a travesty to learn of these inane and absolutely immoral abuses of the church, it is somewhat of a step forward that these abusers aren’t simply given a pass because of their prominence and status, and are still convicted.
