Elle Grinnell- "toxic moonshine kills 133 people and leaves hundreds hospitalized in india"

More than 300 people have been hospitalized due to tainted alcohol in India. Police have arrested 10 and are questioning others due to this outbreak which was mostly supplied to mostly tea garden workers. There have been several other incidents such as this throughout Indias struggle in controlling the selling and usage of illegal alcohol. although it is illegal or "fake" people often buy it because it is much cheaper than the actual thing. these homemade brews are usually made in towns and then smuggled into the nearby cities where they are then sold at around a third of the price. these are often way more deadly for the fact that people add harmful ingredients such as rubbing alcohol to make it seem like there is more content. it also often includes methanol which a little can go a long way and make people dizzy, drowsy, have headaches and other things. 

This reminds me of many other stories and occurrences that I have heard in the past of break outs with drugs. people taint drugs with other things such as rat poisoning so then its cheeper. other people who feel they are in great need of the drug go through so much to buy it to heal their cravings but its even worse than what the real drug would be. I remember within this one occurrence it ended up killing hundreds because the dealer of the tainted drugs would just go through the city and sell and everyone would buy. now don't get me wrong, normal drugs are bad too but these tainted ones are even worse. They have an even worse affect on people because harmful substances that aren't supposed to be put into our bodies in the first place are added into them. I really think this needs to stop because all thought it may be cheeper and easier to gain too many people are dying from their need of getting their fix of this tainted drug.
