80 graves vandalized at Jewish Cemetery - Paige Aleman

Around 80 graves have been daubed with swastikas at a Jewish cemetery in eastern France, hours ahead of nationwide marches on Tuesday against a rise in anti-Semitic attacks. The damage was discovered on Tuesday morning at a cemetery in the village of Quatzenheim, close to the border with Germany in the Alsace region, a statement from the regional security office said.Photos show the Nazi symbols in blue paint spray-painted on the damaged graves, one of which bears the words “Elsassisches Schwarzen Wolfe” (“Black Alsacian Wolves), a separatist group with links to neo-Nazis in the 1970s.
This relates directly back to WW2 and the Holocaust in the way that there are obvious attacks against Jews and and it just goes to show that the anti-semitic views of that time haven’t fully dissolved.

  1. This is such a cruel hate crime. No one was provoked, it was just out of anti-semitic sentiment. This has been going on for too long. I don't think people realize how much hate there still is toward Jewish people.

    1. I agree. I think a lot of times, regardless of mention on the news, people don’t think about the anti-Semitism and Neo-Nazism in our country. It’s rediculous that it’s still going on, but like with racism, there will be a long, hard fight to rid America of these ideologies.

  2. This makes me sick. People, even in the after life, deserve to be treated with respect.

    1. I totally agree. Why can’t people respect the dead no matter what they believed?

  3. i agree! I didn't even realize that there was still much hatred towards the jews.... you would think, that in this day and age, we have finally learned how to respect others' religion, gender, culture, etc... but this proves otherwise

  4. I completely agree with all the previous comments. This is completely awful. It's bad enough to treat a fellow human poorly for a religious belief but the fact that they went the extra mile by desecrating graves, where we honor our dead and fallen prove what a monstrous act this is.
