18 Million Trees Die During California Wildfire- adriana chavez

https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/11/us/dead-trees-california/index.html

Summary:
The Woodley Fire, or The Camp Fire in Northern California, burned continuously for two weeks in November of 2018. The fire stretched across an area roughly the size of Chicago. As of February 12, the US Department of Agriculture stated that a total of 18 million trees perished last year in California. Due to this grave amount of loss of trees, the California forests still remains under stress. The likelihood of droughts or disease outbreaks have increased due to the amounts of ashes and smoke lead into the air.

Analysis:
This article was published and updated on February 12, 2019 by CNN.  I had some prior knowledge to this topic but not much into detail. I was aware of a large forest fire in California that had been going on for a while, and as more time passed i kept wondering if it was still continuing. The amount of trees that have died however leave me absolutely speechless. Our environmental conditions are getting pretty crazy and its tough to think that this was possibly caused by what was supposed to be a harmless campfire. I hope the forests can be restored as well as other areas that have suffered through some kind of tragedy. 18 million is an insane amount of trees that have burned, and the effects of this seem to be headed downhill.

  1. It’s so terrible that so many trees have perished along with many many animals natural habitats. It’s unfortunate how long it will take for these habitats to get back to how they once were.
