Madison Harvey - Musicians Remember Chuck Berry

Summary:  
Many of rock 'n' roll's greatest guitarists list Chuck Berry as one of their influences along with many other musicians.  Keith Richards famously said he lifted all of Chuck Berry's licks.  John Lennon said:  "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry."  After hearing of Chuck Berry's passing at the age of 90, some of the best musicians reacted with kind words about the legend of rock 'n' roll.  Mick Jagger tweeted:  "I am so sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing.  I want to thank him for all the inspirational music he gave to us.  He lit up our teenage years, and blew life into our strange light on the American dream.  Chuck you were amazing & your music is engraved in us forever."  Lenny Kravitz said Chuck Berry was the figure who made rock and roll possible.  Rod Stewart said he is going to honor Chuck Berry during his concert Saturday night.  Melissa Etheridge used lyrics from one of Berry's songs.  "So sad to say goodbye #ChuckBerry."  This was just a few of the many musicians that had kind words to say about Chuck Berry.  Berry passed away at a St. Louis-area home.

  2. This is so sad! I am very sorry to hear of the loss of this legacy. I am sure that many musicians were directly inspired by him and will continue to grow his style.
