Taytum Buford(Period 6)-Succession of TX Reprise?

Summary:“Texans want independence. Period,” huffs the website for the Nederland-based Texas Nationalist Movement, which (perhaps optimistically) claims that over half of all Republicans and more than a third of our Democrats favor an independent Texas Nation. The current nationalist gang, which apparently seeks to out-tea party even the most fervent of tea partiers, is making rumbling noises in the state GOP, which meets for its 2016 state convention May 12 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Much to the displeasure of Republican honchos, the nationalists, who claim they have draft resolutions favoring independence from 22 county GOP organizations, say they’ll bring the issue up.

Analysis: This definitely relates back to when Texas was in succession from 1836-1845, until they decided to join the confederacy for the Civil War. I don't think I agree with this because number one, I do not now how this would work because how would we get the funds, goods, support...Also, succession in the past has proven to be a bad idea so I don't understand why we would want to try it again.
