ISIS recently stated that that it shot down a Syrian air force jet east of Damascus on Friday and captured the pilot. ISIS published a video claiming to show the flaming wreckage of the jet, with what appears to be a Syrian flag painted on the wing. Even with this, CNN cannot confirm that this video is authentic or that claim is true.
Even though we are not sure that this claim is true, this report is shockingly similar to the shooting down of the American U-2 spy plane was shot down by Soviets back in 1960. Hopefully we will be able to find out more information about this report from ISIS soon.
