Peoples views on Police Officers....

I dont seem to find any way to put it better than Paul Harvey. I policeman/woman is a pig, @ss, jerk, slob behind his/her back but Sir or ma'am to their face. You may hate all police because they locked up your brother, sister, mother, or father... You may hate police because they killed your best friend, cousin, dog, or whatever... But I when it comes down to it... There could be a time when you wish you a police officer there to protect you. Even if a police officer comes up to you and you punch them in the face and they arrest you... If someone else comes out with a gun and starts shooting, they will jump in front of that bullet for you. Studies have shown that less that 5% of police officers misfit their uniform. Thats more than you find among priests.

No matter what you have done... They will still protect you if they can.

Police officer pay starts at around $45,000 a year for a Rookie. Thats not a lot of money at all. You can't be a police officer for the pay. You have to do it because its a passion. A passion to make a difference. Yeah, okay they arrested your brother... But think about what he did... If he killed someone, then he gets arrested. If it was the other way around and your brother was murdered, wouldnt you want justice? Nobody in the United States of America is above the law. Justice applies for all! Maybe you think smoking marijuana isn't bad. Thats your opinion. Smoking marijuana has led to testicular cancer in men and of course, arrest. While some may enjoy it, its still against the law.

    Some policemen are strait a-holes! Most of the time when you need one, their not there.Yeah i understand and respect them for their commitment but its diminished here and there with the straight unreasonable confrontations they do with good people.

    Police officers are meant to protect and keep order, not be all warm and fuzzy. I think they are taken for granted quite often, but I also know that there are officers who don't use their power for the right reasons and can be corrupted. But with that in mind, do they really cause more harm than good? I don't think so.
