Sign at GOP Event Calls Muslim Congresswoman a Terrorist -Cleo Chaney

At a GOP event in West Virginia there was a sign being displayed that first showing a picture of the twin towers being destroyed saying “‘Never forget’ you said” and then a picture of Muslim congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, wearing a hijab, with the words “I am the proof you have forgotten.” Since the sign is calling her a terrorist, and by extent calling all Muslims terrorists, it has deservedly sparked outrage.

Islamaphobia following 9/11 is similar to anti-Japanese sentiment during WWII. It’s judging a whole group by the actions of a few. This resulted in Japanese internment camps on the Pacific Coast, and we must make sure nothing similarly nazi-ish happens now, such as the “Muslim registry” that Trump didn’t seem opposed to in 2016.
