Texas is on its way to legalizing weed. This pertains to (recent) US History when Colorado legalized weed 5 years ago in 2014.
This is a huge deal because not only will the legalization of weed reduce the disproportionate number of minorities doing jail time for possession of marijuana, but should the State of Texas end up taxing pot, it would have another supplemental source of income for state facilities and programs.
If you want to help push to legalize marijuana in Texas, this form is a letter to state legislators about using marijuana to combat the opioid crisis.

If they legalize marijuana they are going to find another way to make money off of it but u agree they just need to go ahead and legalized it and then there wont be as high as a percent of prisoners from weed.
