Last week, April the Giraffe gave birth for the fifth time. The forth time April gave birth, it went viral and the zoo held an internet contest to name the baby giraffe. The name was announced a few days later and ever since, April the giraffe has been followed. This weeks birth was live streamed and reached over 1 million viewers! Although this may seem like something irrelevant in light of many terrible recent events, I believe it is important to find something good in all the bad. Also giraffes are closer and closer to becoming extinct.
This is related to history because this could be the last we hear about from giraffes around the world. The audience is anyone who didn't watch the livestream, or people who didn't know that giraffes are becoming closer and and closer to the title of endangered. The point of view was CNN, so I believe they are reliable. The purpose is to inform and educate. This is important because giraffes are an extremely important part of wildlife in all cultures.
This is amazing! I had no idea she had given birth FIVE times! I remember watching the last birth live stream and I found it fascinating and impressive how much it was mentioned in the media. It's too bad this birth wasn't given as much hype, as I would've enjoyed seeing updates throughout her pregnancy.

I am glad to hear good news and hope that the giraffe population increases over time( same with other animals that are close to being extinct).
