This article is about presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke (KING!) is handling his early campaign for presidency. The article questions his readiness, from being defeated in the Texas Senate election in 2018, to being relatively young an inexperienced. Although he has many agreeable views, the author points out many mistakes he has made early in the race, like getting arrested in the past and making a joke about his wife "at home with the kids.". In the sensitive era that we live in now, these things are important to watch out for when running for a major election.
Personally, I LOVE Beto. When he was running in the Texas Senate race, I researched about him and agreed with many of his beliefs. But, this article is compelling in making me question him as president- maybe he doesn't have the experience? And if he couldn't win a state election, could he win a nationwide one? The author is pointing out the common issues that some people have with him, and by association, the reader almost feels obligated to agree. I mean, if someone is offended by something, in this time, the reactor must agree or else they will be the offensive one. So, to be safe, a reader may feel pressured into not liking him. This is very unlike the past, because in history, there have been more freedoms within stating opinions.
