A New Party- Gracie Zytynski

 An article written by Grace Sparks apart of CNN discusses the idea of a new party. According to a new political poll, 40% of Americans want a third political party. They want this because they believe it will fix our political system. Additionally, the poll shows that 1 in 10 adults thinks the two party system works fairly well. This connects to the Populists, which was a third party during the Gilded Age. The Populists Party mainly consisted of farmers and were unhappy with the Democrat and Republican Party beliefs. They believed that the federal government needed to play a more active role in the economy.
