It has been almost 12 years since Madeleine McCann, who was only 3 years old, disappeared from a family villa in Portugal. Netflix has released the first episode of its new documentary series, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, about this tragedy.
The circumstances of the disappearance of Madeleine were the worst nightmare of any parent. Subsequent events only exacerbated the suffering of Jerry and Kate McCann, who were faced with suspicion and scrutiny by the media after their daughter disappeared during their joint holiday in May 2007.
In “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann,” private detective Julian Peribanese suggests that if Madeleine was indeed abducted and sold into slavery, she most likely is still alive. "The value that Madeleine had was really high ... If they took her away, it was because they were going to get a lot of money," confirms Peribanez.
Madeleine's parents did not take part in the filming of the Netflix series, but they published a statement about the film on their website: "We do not see ... how this program will help in finding Madeleine, especially given the active investigation by the police, it can potentially prevent it."
On March 16, a spokesman for McCann noted that parents believe that their daughter is still alive. According to their representative, the family hopes that Madeleine will return home soon.

So I still can't imagine how parents could leave their children at home alone in a foreign country while they were sitting in a restaurant. It is very scary to realize that the girl is still missing. No one knows where is she and if she is still alive at all. I think if you are a parent you should keep your eye on your children all the time no matter what. This is an example people must turn their attention. For now, I can imagine what parents' feelings are, it is really really painful. I don't think they didn't care about their children at the time back then, or they didn't try to avoid an accident or protect; however, only because of a little fault, just a little time last and a little girl was gone, and who knows, probably forever. Also, it is really scary to think that slavery is still used by people, and I'm afraid the girl could really get into people trafficking. I hope she is still alive and someday she will back at home. Police didn't give up, they still trying, and I'm afraid that this TV show that came up on Netflix only can get the attention of the wrong people.
