Murdered Girl in Alabama - Chloe Meinershagen

https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/03/us/alabama-girl-found-dead/index.html

Missing 11 year old from Alabama, Amberly Barnett, is now found dead. Amberly went missing while she was at her Aunt's house who was at the store. Her mom knew something was suspicious when Amberly was gone but her phone was at the house. The search began immediately after the call on Friday at 7p.m., and spread to nearby Cherokee County and Georgia. The Alabama Department of Forensic Science reported that this type of crime is shocking since it rarely happens. He describes Mount Vernon as a tight-knit society, and that his heart is shattered to hear the news.

Previously to this I had no knowledge of crime in Alabama since we live in Texas. What's the most eerie about this situation is that we don't know who or what caused this depressing incident and there is no evident reasoning behind why the poor girl was kidnapped and killed. This is comparable to JonBenet Ramsey, where her parents murdered her and staged a kidnapping to not be blamed. While in this situation I hope and doubt that Amberly's parent's hurt her, it is still tragic for the children in both situations to have been killed. Rest in peace.
