This article was written by Michael Nedelman on March 4,2019 and it brings up banning e-cigarettes. A Colorado congressman named Diana DeGette will introduce legislation this week that could ban e-cigarette flavors on a national level. A lot of kids are now using e- cigarettes and the different flavors play a huge part. DeGette believes that any product with names like "cotton candy" or "tutti fruitti" are trying to market to the youth and that those flavors are the reason in the spike in use. If DeGette's. bill becomes a law, it would ban flavors within a year.
This reminds me of when people wanted to prohibit alcohol, which they did;however, it was eventually legal again. I feel like there would still be ways to get Juuls or e-cigarettes no matter what they do, but it would probably be more difficult, which could lower the amount of kids doing it. Also, I think that people will always find something else to turn to if this bill becomes a law and e-cigarettes are banned.
