Thousands of children skipped school from all over Australia to gather and make a change. They are worried about the future of our planet and demand action. They would like their government to do more to help climate change and its effect on the planet. A whopping 15,000 gathered to get their voice heard, and just that happened. The prime minister was not s happy about the strike, he said he rather them be in school.
I think this is amazing, seeing so many young people come together to make a change is truly admirable. Of course, some people are not going to agree, byut that doesn't mean you aren't making a change. This reminded me of when we had a walk out against gun violence at our school (and the walkouts all across the country). Just like in Australia, a heck of a lot of young people got together and fought for what they believed in.
What a peaceful way to come together with others with the purpose of bringing about change in a certain direction. This is so important in stepping closer to being heard, being listened to.
ReplyDeleteChildren who stand their ground and state their beliefs are, in my opinion, more powerful than adults who do the same. The world will one day be theirs and they need to be informed about what is going on.

I think that the lack of attention given to the subject of climate change needs to change and I am very happy that these students have chosen to sacrifice their own time and effort in order to help change the world for the better.

I agree with you this is very amazing and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see people stand for what the believe in and I agree with Fiona, students who stand their ground are more important than adults since the child will most likely see the changes they have made.
ReplyDeleteOur generation holds the key to a world of change just as every other generation does, but the question is whether we will actually unlock the door for ourselves. The students show the initiative that our world needs, that even our country needs. The only way to fix our climate at this point is by widespread monstrimental changes and the only way to do that is the rough our high powered executives, so how in the world can we do that if our HIGHEST powered executive doesn't even believe that the problem exists.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad tp hear that they were able to organize such a big protest. The climate is such a big issue and we're the one's inheriting it
