The "Concorde" is a supersonic passenger jet that the USSR manufactured that impressed many in lots of air shows. Although the Concordski was impressive and seemed like a world changing supersonic travelling air craft it soon turned into one of civil aviation's biggest failures...
Several times in history has some country or place manufactured something never seen before and world changing to the point where it is too good to be true and this is a good example of a project going very well at first and then crashing and burning.
