Astronaut's gene expression no longer same as his identical twin, NASA finds (4/2/2018)

Twins, Mark and Scott Kelly, were part of a recent NASA experiment. Scott went to space for two years to see the long term effects of space travel and he did not come back the same. Scott’s genetic expression changed by about 7%. He also came back and he was 2 inches taller and his cognitive abilities slightly decreased. This will help NASA in traveling through space safely, like the journey to Mars.

This related to the Space Race between the USSR and the United States during the Cold War where they were fighting for dominance in space flight capability. The US made NASA, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, after the Soviet Union launched the first ever artificial satellite. And when the Soviet Union was able to have the first person to orbit the Earth, the US retaliated with landing the first person to orbit the moon and eventually the first man on the moon. The advancements in space research have grown exponentially these past 60 years.
