Teachers in Oklahoma and Kentucky Walk Out: ‘It Really Is a Wildfire’

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/02/us/teacher-strikes-oklahoma-kentucky.html

Summary:

In Oklahoma and Kentucky, teachers walked out of their job as a form of protest requesting better wages. This caused many schools and districts to be shut down. They marched in their states capitols and hope that by the mid-term elections they will receive an increase in budget.

Analysis:

I personally believe teachers receive way too little money for the amount of work they do. They shape the countries future yet they are not recognized enough. Peaceful protest relates to history through many other forms of protest. For example when students protested and for the the student reform movement but today the roles have changed and it is the teachers who are protesting for their rights.
