Wolfgang Hunter - War crimes court-martial starts for SEALs

Earlier today, three high ranking Navy officers went to trial regarding their accusations of committing war crimes overseas. The officers were accused of torturing an unnamed male prisoner in a U.S. prison base located in Afghanistan.

These particular situations, sadly, are not new to viewers and analyzers of U.S. history. One of many instances in United States history in which a similar incident has happened would be the mistreatment of the Native American populations within the Northeastern reservations, in which Union officers ran the territory and made sure that the natives would be assimilated in any form possible. This misuse of the minority group within the country did not cease to occur until the latter half of the twentieth century, in regards to the Civil Rights movements of the 1960's.
