Summary-
67 year old Todd Brassner died during the fire on the 50th floor of the New York City Trump Tower apartment along with 6 other firefighters injured. According to the New York City Fire Department, there was no working smoke alarm so that prevented people from evacuating orderly and caused people to clog the staircases. A further investigation led to the discovery that the upper-level residential floors of the building are not equipped with fire sprinklers and no efforts have been made to install them.
Analysis-
This article was written by Julian Cummings and Brynn Gingras. The article was a little hard to follow because I feel like a lot of statements were left unfinished but my heart goes out to the Brassner family. Personally I feel like if the right protocols/precautions were made Tod’s death could’ve been avoided.
