Trump Tower Fire

Myah Hasbany

Trump has publicly tweeted about the fire that started , but has said nothing about the man that died in the building. In fact he even thanked the fire fighters, but did not acknowledge the several sustained injuries, and said the fire was out before it was fully extinguished. Many other residents of the building were outspoken about their growing fears of living in the building.“It was a very horrible experience . . . there was no evacuation system in place . . . we were at a loss of what to do. I almost fainted. I thought we would die,” Trump has also come under fire about his opposition to a bill that would require fire sprinklers in all high rise residential buildings in New York. There were no fire sprinklers in the residential floors of trump tower.

This is similar to the Chicago fire of 1872 that basically destroyed the entire city. Both situations make the public think about safety standards, and protest for better ones.
