In Maralinga, Australia, there is an atomic bomb testing site. It is the only area of Australia that has ever had this kind of radiation, and it is located on the Southern border in the remote western desert. There is only one person who can show these sitings and it is Robin Matthews. There is still radiation there and there were seven bombs dropped there between 1956 and 1963. The British and Australian governments were the ones that dropped them. They tested on humans wearing only socks. The first bomb was dropped two months before the Melbourne Olympics. It had the same blast as Hiroshima in Japan during WW11.
This relates to APUSH because these atomic bombs completely changed the course of history. When the US dropped the bombs in Japan, the whole war changed.
