The city of Asheville, North Carolina released disturbing and difficult to watch videos from nine body-worn cameras related to the beatings and tasing of a man who was suspected by police of jaywalking, the city said. One video from a police officer on the scene shows officer Christopher Hickman wrap his arms around the man's neck from behind while other officers try to subdue him.
Johnnie Jermaine Rush is the man that was beaten and being accused of jaywalking. Officer Hickman was removed from patrol duty the day after the incident happened. He resigned from the department in January, the same day he was supposed to be terminated.
