Drivers on interstate-380 were stranded for 24 hours because of terrible weather conditions. PennDOT crews worked their hardest to clear the snow and ice off of the roads, but they knew it was going to take a really long time. People were forced to spend a night in their vehicles because they had nowhere else to go. Some students were in a bus on their way back to NYC and never thought that they would be spending a whole night in that bus. It was a very inconvenient experience.
This reminds me of in our history when people would migrate to new places and all of a sudden they would come upon mountains that they didn't know existed or a treacherous river that they had no idea how to get across. Back then, they had horses and buggies that weren’t suitable for severe weather like the cars that we have today. Traveling was a lot more dangerous back then than it is now.
