A meme was recently posted to Steve King's, Iowa Republican Rep, Facebook account and has since been under fire. The meme was criticizing a Parkland student for wearing a Cuban flag patch. the meme reads "This is how you look when you claim Cuban heritage yet don't speak Spanish and ignore the fact that your ancestors fled the island when the dictatorship turned Cuba into a prison camp, after removing all weapons from its citizens; hence their right to self defense," Along with a picture of the student Emma Gonzalez speaking at the "march for our lives rally"
Brandon Wolf, Orlando Pulse shooting survivor, has taken to the comment section criticizing Steve King and lack of sympathy. The account has since responded with "Pointing out the irony of someone wearing the flag of a communist country while simultaneously calling for gun control isn't 'picking' on anyone. It's calling attention to the truth, but we understand that lefties find that offensive." The post remains up. I think the post should be taken down and an apology is due.
