ANALYSIS:
AI has dramatically developed over the past few years, and there are still so many things we can do with it. SenseTime, which specializes in software that can identify people's faces in surveillance videos, said that it had secured $600 million in funds and is already in talks with investors to raise even more money. Since the company is so big, they hope to broaden their horizons and branch out in different industries. For instance, the Chinese government will be using this software to keep tabs on its citizens. Another industry they want to dig their nails into is the transportation industry. Uber is looking into this software, and is considering implementing it into their systems.
I absolutely love reading about the vast expanses of technology, and how simple everyday items are being altered by it. It's so interesting to think that we could have flying cars or time travel in as little as a year from now. It's crazy. It's as if society has been in a constant industrial revolution throughout history.
