A series of cyber-attacks were orchestrated against a South-Dakota energy facility. The attacks were from an unknown source and resulted in gigabytes upon gigabytes of data being stolen and Homeland Security being alerted. It is rumor that these attacks are linked to a few that happened some time before back in March, 2016, against water source energy, aviation, and management firms. treasury Department claims that a dozen Russian individuals are behind an "on-going" cyber attack that has possible ties to the 2016 election.
this is relevant because if it turn out the Russians did in fact aid Trump in his clumsy climb to the top then that could possibly lead to a reelection and the betterment of America as a whole. If they are not connected it is still highly relevant because cyber attacks are a huge thing nowadays since every government secret is online in one way or another and almost every single thing that can be used to corrupt government can now be accessed with a laptop and a very skilled hacker.
