On Monday Gov. Phil Bryant signed into law a bill that restricted women from getting an abortion after 15 weeks. He later tweeted how he wanted to “make mississippi the safest place for a child in America “ acorrdimgnto Jessica Ravitz. The law makes an exception for medical emergencies but not for incest or Rape. Also doctors who perform abortions after 15 weeks will face penalties like jail time or fines.
This isn’t surprising for the south, It’s what they believe in. However what I believe in is the mothers choice to have the baby or not. No one knows what threat mother went through or why she’s leg any yet they want to map out her life for her. These people get blamed for having too many kids funded by the government but when they try to stop having these kids we get a law restricting abortions. I think the government should put so many scrutinizing laws on women if they have never been in their position. This is important to US history because it shows the separation of federal and state governments and how states can make their own crazy laws.
