9 year old shoots sister over game controller Sophie Sandoval

A 9 year old little boy grabbed his parents gun and shot his 13 year old sister after an argument for a game controller. The boy shot his sister in the back of the head while the mother was in the kitchen making dinner. The girl was taken to a hospital in Memphis where she was tragically pronounced dead. Authorities have yet to file charges and they are still investigating this tragic crime scene.

Once again here is an act of gun violence that wouldn't have happened if the open carry law didn't exist. The 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms but it docent mean that minors can go around and grab guns whenever they want. I believe the parents should be charged and the kid should be sent to a mental institution. Nobody should get this upset over a game controller.

  1. As I continued to read the first paragraph, it just got worse and worse. I'm really curious to know how this child was crazy enough to shoot his own sibling over a game.

  2. This is awful! I agree that actions need to be made to make sure that something like this never happens again. I feel so sorry for the poor little girl. This is just so upsetting.

  3. THIS IS WHY WE NEED HARSHER GUN LAWS!!!!! And also, is extremely scary how our generation is this obsessed with technology and video games.

  4. this scares and upsets me very much. i'm a firm believer that until a certain age children are completely moldable to their parents thoughts and actions, and i have no doubt that the way this child was raised led to the murder of his sister. this is a terrible tragedy and is just another example of why we need tighter gun control.

  5. I can't believe a child would do this. I wonder what was going through his head. I also wonder if he has abusive parents

  6. I think this is just the logical extreme of allowing firearms to fall into the hands of those unqualified or unprepared to wield them, and the results are tragic; I don't think the bulk of the blame should fall on the child though, as he probably didn't understand the power or gravity of his actions and it wasn't he who left out the weapon in the first place.

  7. This definitely makes you question the parents because how would a 9 year old even know where that gun was unless it was used frequently, and the accessibility to it must've been very easy.
