House Bill 1510, signed by Mississippi
Gov. Phil Bryant putting the bill of preventing abortions after 15 weeks into
use last Monday, this new law is also referred to as the Gestational Age Act.
The act says that the only circumstance that one can abort a child is if there
is fetal abnormality or the mother is at risk of death and makes no exceptions
if the child was conceived without will. Those that violate this will be fined
$500 minimum and doctors will have their license revoked. Mississippi ad along
with other states, make it increasingly difficult to receive an abortion before
the 15-week cut off, with the need for repeated clinic trips costing too much
for many and a limited number of physicians available because of the difficulty
to be board-certified.
Abortions
have always been a topic of debate for the US, with women unable to hold power,
men have continued to force these laws upon many. 1880 was a turning point in
the views of abortion, before it was a widely practiced and profitable business
and the church didn’t use morals as an abortion argument; the main resistance
of it was the risk of being poisoned. 1873 came the Comstock Law banning abortion;
however, in 1960 women’s rights soon became further noticed with the Women’s Liberation
movement giving the rights to the women, but as time progresses law are
appearing once more to limit the use of abortions, history is once more repeating
its self.

I agree that history is repeating its self back to the women’s liberation movement and abortions.
ReplyDeletei too see the pattern of womens rights
DeleteI am definitely not for abortions. However, it is a woman's own body and she should be able to do whatever and however she pleases. We've been obedient towards men but we should at least have the power to do whatever with our bodies not have to listen to some idiot man who thinks they know whats best.
