This weekend for march of our lives as Emma Gonzalez stood on stage and listed the 17 students and staff that were killed during the shooting at parkland. After that she went into complete silence. People say that it was the loudest silence of US social protest. Emma held in silence for 6 minutes and 20 seconds. WHY? she explained thats how long it was being in a room while the shooter was around. Emma is 18 and is a social activist. She shaved her head to make a statement.
I think Emma is a role model to look up to! She believes in what she believes in and is fighting for it!
we should all be like Emma and stand up for what we believe in. Our voices matter and we can change the world with it!
This can relate to the protest after the shooting as individuals laid down in front of the white house!

ReplyDeleteHer silence was so powerful. She is such a great and captivating speaker, but her silence was all the more capturing. She really made a statement, and is the face of a strong movement and generation.
