On March 18th, a self-driving Uber car hit and killed a pedestrian in Tempe, Arizona. This was the first death or traumatic incident involving a self driving vehicle and put a stop to self driven car testing in Tempe, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Toronto. The idea/ invention is still very new and its obvious that many improvements must be made in order for people to rule this as safe again. Although, in a counter argument, the number of deaths involving standard vehicles are significantly lower than the ones dealing with self driven cars. I’d say, up to this point, self driven cars are very much a success and a foreshadow into the future of mankind.
