The Oregon Militia v The Burns Paiute Tribe by Matthew Homsher

Summary: The Oregon Militia has been paving new roads, scrapping fences, and, most recently, taking down security cameras. The group disabled the surveillance cameras at the Malheur National Wildlife refuge with their spokesman LaVoy Finicum saying that they represented “mass surveillance.” However, their transformation of federal property has the Burns Paiute Tribe angry. They are requesting criminal charges be brought against this group, fearing that they have defaced priceless artifacts and ancient burial grounds with all of the reconstruction they’ve been doing. This is a fact tribal councilman Jarvis Kennedy tried to explain to the Washington Post. “Who knows what they’re stomping on” The accusations are well placed because the refuge headquarters are home to thousands of relics, including stone tools and spears salvaged from a  187,000-acre property in southeast Oregon.

Synopsis: Native Americans can’t ever catch a break can they? This militant Oregon group is causing a lot of problems, but despite what people think of them, whether they approve of their actions or condemn them for being a bunch of militant rednecks, they’ve disrespected Native American history and destroyed private property. At this point, they deserve to serve time for crimes against the state of Oregon as well as the Burns Paiute Tribe. They are a militant liability and must be stopped before they destroy something that can’t be replaced.
