In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. day the twenty fourth annual MLK Oratory Contest, the victor of which was ten year old Lyriq Turner. This fifth grader delivered a well spoken and otherwise compelling speech which focused on topics such as terrorism, immigration, and civil rights. She won 1000 big ones. Wowzarino.
Lyriq Turner and the rest of her fellow finalists I believe to be the hope of the future. We obviously can't depend on the adults of our generation to solve the problems in the example of Donald Trump and just any politician or other figure in our society. There is nobody within the ranks of our society right now that has both the vision and the willpower of activists like MLK in order to change our society for the better, so we will have to wait until these people have come of age for these necessary changes to our society, unless of course they are poisoned by the society they hope to tear down like all of the afore mentioned politicians and celebrities. 1000 big smackaroonies. Wowza.
