Spreading Lies on the Internet- Eva Semrad flex

Misinformation can spread easily through the internet as we all know. There is now research done on how this can be detrimental to society. The World Economic Forum has even said it is one of the main threats to society. The way we group ourselves socially, and the way we hold our beliefs, cause us to essentially cherry pick interpretation of news and information. This can create polar ideas and seriously misguided decision making, due to a simple belief of twisted information.

The way we hear about things on social media and from one another has a great deal of influence on how we gauge the world around us. This is important because the polarity of varying opinions is typically what causes war and civil skirmishes. With the ever changing way we get our news, it's imaginable that we could damage society by getting into unnecessary wars and fights.
