"Simple Choices Can Cause The Loss of Many Lives" -Aleah Washington 1st period

Raymond Fryberg is the father of a Washington High School student who killed four of his classmates and himself. Prosecutors say Mr. Fryberg lied on the federal purchasing form when getting the firearms to hide his restraining order which would have kept him from being able to purchase them. Even his former partner in Tulalip Tribal Court filed a domestic violence protection order which should have prohibited him from being able to own a gun. Despite all of his convictions his case had flaws which allowed him to get the guns and not get arrested on the spot. The outcome of him disobeying the law was his son taking one of the guns and shooting and killing four of his friends and himself afterwards.

This unfortunate event is another example of the outcome if the second amendment, the right to bear arms, isn't taken seriously. More people lose their lives and don't get to live out the one they deserve. This is another reason firearm dealers have to conduct a detailed background check during gun purchases to make sure weapons don't land into the hands of the wrong people. The families of the victims shot filed a $110 million lawsuit against Fryberg and the school district. Fryberg was also sentenced two years in prison for firearm charges but his lawyer tried to argue that "he didn't know his charges prohibited him from having firearms, and they sought probation as punishment."
