New Jersey Rutgers University student Alexandra Kelly has written a song against bullying after she heard about high school freshman, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide as an effect of bullying. Now her song "Perfectly Imperfect" has been raising awareness for the organization that was named after Tyler Celemeti, the Tyler Clementi Foundation. Clemnti jumped off of a bridge when his roommate secretly recorded him kissing another man. The song Kelly wrote was inspired by a poem her sister wrote when she was sixteen. Alexandra herself has come out about how she herself was bullied in high school and middle school for her passion for music and that is part of the reason the story of Tyler Clementi drew her in. What she has done for the foundation has been phenomenal.
I think what Alexandra Kelly has been doing for the foundation is really great. Awareness has been raised all over the country after teen suicide reports have been at an all time high. I appreciate these organizations and foundations that "work to help kids come out in a comfortable and safe space."
