POTENTIAL SPACE SPIES!! - Trevor Haueisen 6th

Summary: The U.S. Air Force's unmanned space plane, X-37B, is said to be landing soon.  It was sent up to test things like "advanced guidance, navigation and control, thermal protection systems, avionics, high temperature structures and seals, conformal reusable insulation, lightweight electromechanical flight systems, and autonomous orbital flight, re-entry and landing." Because the Space Craft was in orbit for so long, more than 22 months, people wonder if they were testing secret space weapons and spying techniques.

Analysis: The government being secret about this could be bad for everyone's trust (or at least what trust we have left) for the U.S.  If they are trying to Spy on people and we find out it could turn into another NSA event and just make other countries loose respect for us affecting trade and other foreign affairs.  Although, it is really good that air force is dabbling in space technology.  That is the next frontier and it's a good way to keep America ahead.

  1. The government could be hiding something with this. They've done it plenty of times in the past with secret weapons. Also, your title's hilarious.

  2. America is really pushing its limit with this I think and needs to tread carefully on what they do with large machines that have unknown purposes...

  3. But assuming that the U.S. isn't spying on us, what would've stopped them from telling the public? They could've been keeping it a secret for competition purposes with other countries. The government has kept pretty big secrets before, but not all of them are bad.

  4. Hopefully the government will tell us the machine's purpose, as secrecy doesn't often lead to very good things.

  5. Where in the world is this things home base? Was it launched by another country or was it a product of the US? Secrecy tends to strike nerves of some Americans so I hope that we will soon know what this is all about.
