EBOLA IN DALLAS TEXAS, MADANA KLOSS 4th period
The first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States was fighting for his life at a Dallas hospital on Sunday and appeared to be receiving none of the experimental medicines for the virus, a top U.S. health official said. Thomas Eric Duncan became ill after arriving in the Texas city from Liberia two weeks ago, heightening concerns that the worst Ebola epidemic on record could spread from West Africa, where it began in March. The hemorrhagic fever has killed at least 3,400 people out of the nearly 7,500 probable, suspected and confirmed cases.
I hear allot of kids making fun of ebola at school. Yes maybe something can be funny when it isnt happening to you, but ebola is turning into a teriblle thing. This terrible thing is spreading and hurting many people. This family from this man is struggling to cope with this terrible "cancer" of a thing. I think we should stop jokeing and take this more seriously. Ebola should also be known to originate from Africa/ Liberia, malaria is endemic. Most everybody has it and the parasite builds up in their blood until they become symptomatic with fever, stomach ache, diarrhea and headache. The presenting symptoms of malaria therefore look a whole lot like Ebola! And malaria is the number one most common disease diagnosed in Liberia. This cofounder is everywhere. So maybe malaria and Ebola are related hopefully soon we will find a cure.http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/as-ebola-patient-in-texas-fights-for-his-life-his-family-copes-with-stigma-and-isolation/2014/10/05/d3c8b2ac-4cc7-11e4-8c24-487e92bc997b_story.html
As a personal perpetrator of this I have to agree and disagree, it is serious but we cant allow fear to seize our minds and shut us down, we have to be willing to joke (TO A POINT) in order to cope with something this serious.
ReplyDeleteyeah I agree with Harrison. sometimes we as humans need something to help us block the horrible reality of things... (Joselopez 4th prd)
ReplyDeleteI agree that us kids are not taking it as seriously as we should. We never really know until something actually happens to us to take things seriously, but then again we are just teenagers.
