11 year old , Kylie Simonds, got an assignment by her 5th grade teacher- make something to help people in every day life. Being a cancer survivor, she took the assignment to heart and decided to create something amazing. She said that when she had cancer, she hated having to carry around a bulky IV pack, so she came up and created an IV backpack. She came up with the idea when she was going through cancer, and now she's making that idea come true. She wanted to help thousands of kids with cancer from all over.
The back pack has everything a cancer patient would need, like a drip bag which is held in a cage to make sure it is protected. Every detail was perfectly thought up by Kylie. Everyone was so proud of her, including her. She said she would have loved to have one when she had cancer. Right now it only comes in a hello kitty backpack, but more backpack ideas are coming up soon. Many companies have already wanted to sponsor her in the invention. She has truly changed the world for cancer kids.
