Zombie Ratings owns Cable TV - Angel Pineda 1st Pd.

Last night marked another historic night for AMC and The Walking Dead as the hit zombie show was watched on cable TV with 16.1 million viewers watching Sunday night's Season 4 premiere, more than 5 million more than last year’s premiere. No cable show has ever drawn such a large audience. (For comparison: Breaking Bad had an average audience of 10.28 million viewers per episode.) The show received an 8.2 rating, making it as well the highest rated cable show this season thus far despite facing Sunday Night Football. Who knows how far the ratings will expand.

ANALYSIS: I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead and although I expected something like this happen, I did not expect it to nearly get close to Sunday Night Football's ratings (only 3 million apart). It's amazing how a simple comic book has evolved into one of the most popular shows on TV as the Walking Dead itself continues to evolve outside the TV set and into social media and into the outside social world.
