In 1970, three teenagers went missing in a car. Recently, bodies were found inside two different cars in a lake in Oklahoma. Three bodies were in each of these cars. Interestingly, another three people went missing in a car in 1969, and are believed to be the same people as the bodies in the other car. The ages and gender of the missing people match the bodies that were discovered, although DNA testing will help to confirm their identities. The cars were found when a state trooper was practicing with new sonar equipment.
We've all heard of the seemingly rare cases that just seem to have no answer, and later fade into history. This discovery seems almost like fate, but it's possible that there are all sorts of things submerged in local lakes that we don't know about. Hopefully these cases will be solved so that their family members will finally get some closure. Personally, I am interested to find out what happened to these people. Were the cases involved, or were they just a strange coincidence? I find it fascinating that new evidence can still show up and that these sorts of cases can be solved even after so much time. Areas in which disappearances have occurred should probably take advantage of sonar equipment like in this particular case. It's possible that many more cold cases could be solved in that manner.

This is very interesting, especially since the times were significantly close. However its upsetting that this evidence has come up so late in time now.
ReplyDeleteHopefully more information can be found in lakes all over the world. I can only imagine the things that are at the bottom of some lakes. This is a tragic story that happened 40 years ago, but at least now the families will have closure (even if it did take over 4 decades)
