Ohio DayCare Worker Accused of Raping 2 Children

25 year-old Heather Koon was arrested last Friday for two counts of alleged rape. Koon was a full time employee of ABC Kidz DayCare in Elyria, Ohio from August 2012 until March 2012. Police discovered Koon on accident. According to Carlos Johnson, an attorney for the DayCare, they were checking on a registered sex offender and stumbled upon an unregistered laptop revealing video footage of Koon allegedy raping two children. Police soon found out that Koon was the registered sex offender's girlfriend. Koon was taken to jail on Friday and was charged with two counts of murder. More to come on this story.

This makes me sick. I decided to post this because it amazes me how people can do such cruel things to innocent children. Just like the murder of Carole Roberston, Cynthia Wesley, Denise McNair, and Adie-Mae Collins in the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama, 1963. Those girls had not even participated in the protests yet their lives were lost and we never got to know what they would become. Fortunately for these two children, they still have their lives. The names and ages of the children have not yet been reported but I'm sure it will leave them scarred, and that's not fair. No child deserves that. Those children will forever carry this burden with them, feel insecure about themselves, be afraid, have nightmares, flashbacks..it's awful what this woman (might have) done to them. Children don't deserve to be attacked.

  1. I agree that the event is awful and heart wrenching, because the places we wsend our kids to develop are supposed to be protected, well gaurded ones. Only the ones gaurding are the ones urting. However, please do not soil this woman's name before you've had any trace if evidence about it. Yes rape is terrible, but who's to say she did it. This type of thing is what ruins people, just because the public saw them as the first one accused or the "best suspect" for the case.

  2. Felicia Padilla 5th period: Hearing about this I awful. I watch SVU a lot and in the show they follow the lives of many raped women and these women never get their lives back because everyday they are reminded about how they were violated.

  3. It's horrible that this happened to these children. I hope that they get the help that they need and that the woman gets punished for the crime she committed.

  4. I absolutely abhor hearing things such as this. The fact that sexual abuse at such a young age is a reality for so many children all over the world is sickening. Hopefully she will be brought to justice.

  5. I can't imagine people so young haunt to go through something like that. It sickens me that sexual violence occurs to children so small. Who would do such a thing? It upsets me that this is an issue that we have to deal with. I think this woman needs to be brought to justice and I totally agree with your response.

  6. I will never understand nor want to understand why people would ever do these things to children. They do not deserve it at all. Sure they survived the experience, but those kids will never be the same again, this will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

  7. Cases like this are so sickening. Innocence should not be taken away from children at such a young age. It is not fair to them as they have to live with this forever. Also, daycares/schools are supposed to be a safe environment for kids to learn and be guided, not harmed.

  8. When I read stories like this it breaks my heart. I will never understand this type of thing being done to anyone, let alone poor little children. And then video recording it? Hopefully the children are young enough that they will be able to get help and still carry on and have a decent life. I'm confused about the charges. Did the lady murder them too?
