Zander Pryor-Michael Jackson scandal

In the era of #metoo, it seems theres always a new predator being exposed who was once thought innocuous. With this particular case, however, it's less of a new case being brought to light and more of an old one being revisited. Though Michael Jackson may be dead, the victims of his alleged abuse aren't. Recently, two men have been sharing their story. They took part in a documentary known as "Leaving Neverland" where they recount in horrific detail the abuse they suffered and why they have chosen to keep quiet for these past decades. The Jackson estate has accused the men of simply being out to profit from Michael Jackson's memory.
I personally am inclined to believe the victims. Their personal timelines do certainly add up and it seems if they were only in it to make a quick buck there are about a million easier, simpler ways. This whole situation makes me feel awful. Michael Jackson's family having to defend his name since he isn't alive to (assuming he's innocent) but on the flipside there are the victims who have been met with overwhelming negativity and hostility. This story reminds me a bit of the child labor laws and scandal of the early 1900s. Both involved children obviously but both also featured children for the same reason, namely that children are easy to exploit. Children cannot advocate for themselves and are often easy to exploit, making them ideal targets to be taken advantage of. That's the entire reason things like child Labor laws were pushed in the first place. They did eventually succeed so I can only hope justice prevails once again.

  3. They deserve a chance to be heard and respected but people do already have opinions about him and he has passed away and who’s to say it’ll change there minds.

  4. This is a very controversial topic, with many people left wondering what to do with Jackson’s music which has been loved for decades now, but at the end of the day, music is a form of art and expression which people form an emotional attachment and connection to, which is why the scandal may sour the perception of Jackson’s music, however will not stop people from listening and continuing to appreciate Jackson’s work.

  5. This is a topic I am very passionate about and I could literally talk forever about it but I'll keep it short and sweet. This man has lived his entire life being under pressure, whether that pressure be from his dad, the tabloids, or the judgmental world, he's had to live with this all throughout his controversial life. With such power and glory, there also came ugly stories. There are accusers out there who accused him of sexual misconduct and made him go through all the suffering of court and the media, just to admit after he died that is was a lie and his dad made him go along with it because they wanted to extort money from Michael Jackson.
Let this man PLEASE rest in peace and give his family peace too. especially his children, prince, paris, and bigi.
