Courtney McColley- Alabama newspaper editor calls for KKK revival

Last month, Goodloe Sutton, The editor of a small-town Alabama newspaper, published an editorial calling for the Klu Klux Klan to "ride night again" against Democrats in the Republican Party and Democrats who are plotting to raise taxes in Alabama. When criticised for it, Sutton was unapologetic and stated, "If we could get the Klan to go up there and clean out D.C., we'd all been better off." He was asked to elaborate on that statement and he suggested lynching as a solution. Sutton supposedly believed that the KKK was much like the NAACP, not killing "but a few people" as well as not using violence "until it was needed". Sutton has since been replaced with an African-American woman who has been making many positive changes to the newspaper.
I think that it is outrageous that someone in the 21st century would say something like this. It's so dissapointing that this man doesn't even know the horrible crimes that the KKK committed comparing them to an organization such as the NAACP. I do not think he deserves a position such as this and I'm very glad that he has been replaced.
